Hello Everyone!
Today I am sharing a shadow box card I created using the tutorial from The Unpampered Stamper.
I cut all the panels from Neenah solar white cardstock with the following measurements:
- two panels 8.5″ x 5″
- score at 1.5″ and 7″
- one inside panel 6.25″ x 4 7/8″ (you can add more than one if you like)
- score at 3/8″ and 5 7/8″
- I then put the inside panel behind the front panel. I used a large circle die and ran both pieces through my die cut machine at the same time to ensure they would align correctly.
I used a cloud stencil and Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide to create the background on the inside of the back panel. Then I cut two cloud edges using the Lawn Fawn’s puffy cloud borders and I used the same Distress Oxide on those as well.
I stamped the images from Mama Elephant’s “Wish Upon a Star”. I colored them using Kuretake Zig Markers and then used my Silhouette machine to cut them out.
I assembled the shadow box and then I glued one cloud edge to the back of the front panel. I adhered the other to the front of the inside panel to hide the swing mechanism. Since I don’t own the MFT Swing die I created my own. I laminated an empty laminating pouch and cut a strip from it. I used the Crop-a-dile Corner Chomper to round the corners of the top of the DIY swing mechanism and used the standard single hole punch to create a hole. I adhered a MFT Spin & Slide Disc to the back of the inside panel, put my DIY swing mechanism on it and glued a small cardstock circle to the back to keep the mechanism in place.
I adhered a penny to the bottom of the back of the bunny to give it more weight. This way the swing mechanism works better. Then, I adhered the bunny in the center to my strip of acetate and glued the clouds and the flying bunny to my shadow box.
Then I realized that I forgot to stamp my sentiment. I really wanted to add it so I decided to risk messing up my card. I used my Tim Holtz stamp platform to give me a good chance of success and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide. Thankfully it worked out fine!
That finishes off my sweet bunny shadow box card! I hope you like it and thanks to Rachel for the awesome tutorial!
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
