Hello everyone!
This time I have a Magic Picture Changer Card to share with you! I have to admit: For the longest time I was soooo intimidated by this die! With masking and the mechanism – so I just never used it. This time around I want to make use of all the supplies I have and I decided to finally give it a go. And it was honestly so much easier than I thought! I made a birthday scene using the “Birthday Before and Afters” and “Butterfly Kisses” stamp sets by Lawn Fawn for this one.
If you would like to see how I made this card just click on the video below or just keep reading!
First, I stamped all my images onto Neenah cardstock and colored them in using Copic markers. Still really loving coloring with Copics!! All the images (except for the moving images) were cut out using the Brother Scan’n’Cut.
I stamped the cakes onto some masking paper and fussy cut them. I masked off the colored cakes and ink blended Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide over the area. I also ink blended and A2 sized panel and the Magic Picture Changer add on with the same oxides. I die cut a hill and used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Oxide Inks to ink blend it. I also added some green splatters to it using the same colors.
I also die cut lots of little white clouds with dies that comes with the Center Picture Window Card die set.
Then it was time to assemble the mechanism. I lined up the windows in the dies and die cut the cakes with the Magic Picture Changer dies. I folded along the score lines of the track piece and added Scor tape to both the inside and outside flaps on both sides. I first adhered the inside ones to create a track for the moving piece. I then slid the tag of the moving piece through the slot the die created, folded the main piece over and began moving the front pieces into the slots of the moving piece. Once I was sure the mechanism worked I removed the backing paper of the Scor tape on the inside track and closed the mechanism. I added the tab at the end as a stopper and added the Add-On Piece on top. That finished the mechanism! Way easier than I imagined! I added foam tape to the back and added it to the center of the A2 panel.
The sentiment was heat embossed in white. I added foam tape on the bottom around the picture changer piece and adhered the hill. Then all the images were adhered using liquid glue or foam squares.
As finishing touches I added lots of shimmer pen and some white patterns to some of the images for added interest!
I hope you enjoyed this one and until next time!
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
