Hello everyone!
I hope you’re doing well and staying safe! Today I want to share a new #ChallengeACraftyFriend project with you. My friend Lien challenged me to make a card with a repeating element. I pretty much only do scene cards. They are just my favorite but for this challenge, I needed to come up with something else! So I decided to use the “Happy Birthday Word” die by Hello Bluebird and use the “happy” as my repeating element. While I was at it I decided to make three versions of the same card design!
First, I ink blended two panels of bristol smooth cardstock with Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink. I sprayed the backgrounds with some shimmer spray and let them dry.
Then using my craft mat and a T-Square ruler as a guide I lined up the “happy” die and die cut it four times out of one of the ink blended panels.
Card No. 1
I die cut the second rainbow piece with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables by Lawn fawn.
I die cut the letters for “happy” four times out of white cardstock and also four times out of fun foam and layerd them together. Then I used the panel with the “happy” words cut out as a template to line up my letters. Using liquid glue I adhered them to the background.
I die cut the “birthday” out of white and silver glitter cardstock and layered them for more stability. I added the die cut to my background and added everything to and A2 sized card base.
Card no. 2
For my second card, I die cut a piece of white cardstock using the Mama Elephant Cloud 9 frame. I used the negative piece as a template again and adhered my letters (which I backed with white foam tape) to the white background. As before, I added the “birthday” in silver glitter cardstock to the center and added everything to an A2 sized card base.
Card no. 3
For my last card, I decided to make a shaker card using the negative. I used a frame that usually gets cut out from the Hello Bluebird scene dies that I had left over from a previous project and adhered it to the background. I added a piece of acetate to the back and glued in the inside pieced of the letters “a” and “p” to make it look complete. To the back I added foam tape and I made sure to create litte sections for each word, so that there would be lots of movement for every word.
I removed the backing paper of the foam tape, added diamond dust and chunky glitter to the little wells and sealed it shut with a white A2 sized card base.
This time I die cut the word birthday from silver glitter and two layers of white cardstock. Since the front was flat I wanted the word to stand out a bit more. I added it to the card front using liquid glue.
And that finishes off my three cards for the latest #ChallengeACraftyFriend!
I hope you enjoyed this one! Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
