Family Mice is Baking for the Holidays! | Double Slider Surprise Card with Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are doing well & staying safe! Today I want to share the our first ever “series” challenge for #ChallengeACraftyFriend! Lien and I are both totally obsessed with the adorable Lawn Fawn mice – so we decided to make lots of mice cards with the little “Family Mice”! This is my first card for it: Family Mice is baking for the holidays! This is also my entry for the current Lawnfawnatics challenge “Fun with Food” and also my #GetCrackingOnChristmas card for July!

First, I stamped all my images onto Neenah cardstock and colored all of them using Copic markers. Then, they were cut out using the Brother Scan’n’Cut.

I die cut all the pieces for the Double Slider Surprise out of white cardstock and also a second time out of white again, grey Gotta Have Gingham paper and a strip of dark gray cardstock as my counter. I cut strips and little rectangles to create drawers and cabinet doors for my “kitchen” and I also used the doorknob from the Build-a-House as my pulls for the cabinetry.

I assembled the mechanism (please see the videos for details). For the backing I cut down a piece of Chili Pepper cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Then I used the Quilted Backdrop and cut it out of white cardstock. I ran that panel through my die cutting machine again with the largest of the Outside-In Stitched Rectangle dies to create an 1/8″ border around my panel. As a backing for my double slider I also cut a piece of Storm Cloud cardstock with the second largest of the Stitched Rectangle Stackables.

I added all the layers to an A2 sized card bade and I added all the images to my scene using liquid glue and foam tape (foam only on the main part – not the sliding pieces).

       

As finishing touches, I used shimmer pen and Star Dust Stickles for added glitter and shine and I also added a few white gel pen highlights.
