Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Therm O Web Collaboration Blog Hop! Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies!
Hey crafty friends! I am sooooo excited to participate in the Heffy Doodle and Therm O Web blog hop!! I created three projects and I share all the details in a YouTube Video. You can watch it here! There is a giveaway so read below for all the details!
First: here is an overview of all three projects:
For my first card, I die cut a panel using the Imperial Stitched Rectangles and ink blended the background using the Cloudy Skies Stencil and Shadad Lilac Distress Oxide Ink. Then I added stars overtop using the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo, the Stencil Pal, the Starfall Stencil, and Opal Deco Foil. I made sure to let the transfer gel dry completely before moving on to foiling. The gel turns clear as it dries, so you can easily tell when you can start foiling!!
Then, I used the Deco Foil Toner Sheets and I die-cut the foiled paper using the “mmwaah” die from the Sweet Scalloped Slimline dies. I die-cut the word 3 more times with the Mini Die-Cutting Machine out of white cardstock and layered them for more dimension! I also die-cut a cloud border using the Silver Linings Cloud Border dies. I stamped the second part of my sentiment from Fluffy Puffy Unicorns directly onto the cloud border in black.
I stamped the images from Fluffy Puffy Unicorns and Kindness on Purpose onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock and I colored them in using Zig Markers (see below for colors).
After that, I added the cloud panel to an A2-sized card base using tape runner and I added my images using liquid glue and foam squares. Finally, I used the remaining lilac foil cardstock to die cut a few hearts and I added those between those two sweet unicorns!
For my second card, I die cut the largest of the Sweet Scalloped Slimline dies as well as the second-largest of the Stitched Slimline Trio dies. Out of the second panel, I also die-cut the little windows from the Stitched Slimline Trio dies. I made sure to leave a wider border at the bottom to fit my sentiment. I stamped the sentiment from Kindness on Purpose straight onto the rectangle with black ink.
Then – to match my fun sentiment – I used the Sweet Swirls Toner Sheet and I ink blended it using Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac, Peacock Feathers, and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. I made sure to use dye ink because I wasn’t sure if the pigment from Oxide Inks would interfere with the foil transfer later on. Once the ink was dry, I used the Rainbow Shattered Glass Deco Foil to add sparkle to the little confetti swirls!
Finally, I stamped and colored my little hedgehogs from Quill You Be Mine and added them into the windows!
For my third and final project, I first die-cut a panel using the Imperial Stitched Rectangles and I ink blended it using Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac, and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide. Then, I used the Ring of Rosies stencil, the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo, the stencil pal, and the Amethyst Watercolor Deco Foil. I let the transfer gel dry for about an hour (until it was completely clear) and then added the foil over top and ran it through my laminator. You can also apply the foil with pressure using your die-cutting machine for the duo gel, but I had my laminator already out, so I just used that. I show all the details in the video in case you would like to see it!
I stamped and colored my sweet little bear and thought bubble from Unbearable Without You. I added the foiled panel to a slightly larger white card base using tape runner. Then I added my images using foam squares and liquid glue! I heat embossed the sentiment from Kindness on Purpose onto black cardstock and added that to the panel as well using foam squares. Finally, I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the foiled heart in the thought bubble!
I had so much fun trying out foiling on my cards for the first time. I was so intimidated at first, but it was super easy to do and truly addicting! Have you tried foiling before? Let me know in the comments!! Below I will leave a link to the video as well as the blog hop details!
